An Ode To Walter White

There once was a man named Walt
He's poor but it isn't his fault
thanks to cancer he's through
so he cooked up some blue
and now he's got stacks in a vault.

THE GOLDEN CLOCK AWARDS 2012

This whole site is meant to be a place where the people of America can find out the two things that are on all of their minds:

1. What is Mike Visser watching/reading/listening to???

and

2. Did he like it?

For those of you who wish you could go back and read all of the posts from last year but don't have your priorities in order such that you've found the time...you're in LUCK!

WELCOME TO THE FIRST ANNUAL GOLDEN DOLPHIN AWARD SHOW (online)

Best Podcast Nominees:

Freakonomics
Planet Money - NPR
The B.S. Report - ESPN
Marketplace - APM

And the winner is:

THE B.S. REPORT - This is a bit of a personal pick. Bill Simmons writes for ESPN and runs a sports and pop culture website called Grantland.com. His interviews are looooooong, but they always keep me listening because they cover Boston sports, sports gambling, and T.V. shows.

Best Book Nominees:

Unbroken By Laura Hildebrand
World War Z By Max Brooks
A Dog's Purpose By George K Wilson
The Fountainhead By Ayn Rand

And the winner is:

The Fountainhead By Ayn Rand - The classic novel by Rand which illustrates her philosophy of objectivism is like honey to any type-A overachievers mind-bee. This book had me ready to take over the world. I found it very interesting and mind-expanding and that's why it's getting the Golden Clock this year.

Best T.V. Show Nominees:

Homeland
Parks And Rec
Breaking Bad
Walking Dead

And the winner is:

Breaking Bad - Best show ever made.
